times

The following is a summary of several common refractory castables and their basic uses, combined with key information from search results:

1. High alumina castable

Ingredients: Aluminum oxide (Al ₂ O ∝) is the main component (content 50%~90%), the aggregate is high alumina bauxite clinker or corundum, and the binder is calcium aluminate cement or silica sol.

Features: High refractoriness (≥ 1700 ℃), good thermal shock resistance, and strong slag resistance.

Purpose:

Steel industry: blast furnace hot blast stove, heating furnace, tapping groove lining.

Building materials and chemical industry: rotary kiln, boiler lining, wear-resistant lining for petrochemical catalytic cracking reactors.

2. Low cement/ultra-low cement castables

Ingredients: Reduce cement dosage to 1%~5%, add SiO ₂ micro powder or silica sol to reduce the formation of low melting phase.

Features: High temperature strength (stable strength after 1400 ℃), strong corrosion resistance, and good thermal shock stability.

Purpose:

Metallurgical industry: ladle lining, molten iron pretreatment spray gun.

Power industry: Wear resistant layer of circulating fluidized bed boiler.

3. Corundum casting material

Ingredients: Fused alumina (Al ₂ O ∝ ≥ 90%) as the main aggregate, mixed with calcium aluminate cement and silica micro powder.

Features: High temperature strength (1600-1800 ℃), wear and erosion resistance, resistance to reducing gases (H ₂ CO)。

Purpose:

Petrochemical industry: catalytic cracking reactor, cyclone separator liner.

Metallurgical industry: Vacuum degassing device for molten steel, triangular area at the top of electric furnace.

4. Silicon carbide castable

Composition: Silicon carbide (SiC) as the main aggregate, with phosphate or aluminate cement as the binder.

Features: Good wear resistance, high thermal conductivity, and resistance to slag erosion.

Purpose:

Nonferrous metal industry: lining for aluminum melting furnaces and copper smelting furnaces.

Chemical industry: wear-resistant parts of high-temperature furnaces.

5. Steel fiber reinforced castable

Ingredients: Add stainless steel fibers (1%~3%) to high alumina or corundum castables.

Features: resistant to mechanical impact, heat-resistant peeling, high toughness.

Purpose:

Metallurgical industry: heating furnace bed, tapping tank.

Cement industry: rotary kiln mouth.

6. Lightweight insulation castable

Ingredients: Lightweight aggregates (perlite, vermiculite) combined with aluminate cement.

Features: Low thermal conductivity (0.5~1.0 W/(m · K)), low bulk density (<1.5 g/cm ³).

Purpose:

Industrial furnace insulation layer and heat treatment lining.

7. Mullite castable

Ingredients: Mullite (3Al ₂ O ∝· 2SiO ₂) aggregate, binder is silica sol or aluminum sol.

Features: High strength at medium and high temperatures, good thermal shock resistance.

Purpose:

Steelmaking industry: converter, electric furnace lining.

Other classification methods supplement

According to the binding agent: silica sol/aluminum sol castable (without cement), ρ - Al ₂ O ∝ bonded castable (high purity).

According to the construction method: self flowing pouring material (complex structure), vibration construction pouring material.

The selection of the above castables needs to be adjusted according to specific working conditions (temperature, erosion medium, mechanical stress, etc.) to adjust the formula. For more details, please refer to relevant industry standards or manufacturer technical parameters.
